ONLY two years after after taking up digital photography and four years after taking up photography as a hobby, Batley's Louise Cain has gained a unique achievement at Normanton Photographic Society.
Louise, who is also a member of Dewsbury and District Photographic Society, had all three of her nature- themed print entries gain top marks in the group's twice-monthly competition.
Louise said she did not believe in using a lot of computer manipulation with her images, as less interference was usually expected with wildlife and nature photos. She said that usually she might only delete a distracting whisp of grass or apply a darker backround, so what appears in the camera viewfinder is almost entirely what appears on the finished exhibits.
Although fairly new to photography, Louise says her success suggests to her that nature photography could be a worthwhile career.
