FUTURE stars of the music world had a chance to strut their stuff at a week of summer drama and dance workshops at the Young Batley Centre.
The workshops, hosted by Suga Brown, an urban dance and drama company, saw seven to 19-year-olds having a go at street dance, drama, DJ’ing and beat boxing.

More than 40 young people attended the sessions at the Thomas Road centre, with eight to 12-year-olds attending in the mornings and 13 to 19-year-olds in the afternoons.

Drama tutor Laura Brown said: “They’ve loved it. We’ve done team building, communication, confidence skills and improvisation work.

“We’ve been running these road shows for a couple of years now and the young people always enjoy them.

“They’re free of charge, parents get a break and it’s three hours of fun.

“All the drama sessions ended with a game of dodge ball which all the young people loved.”
