IT was smiles all round at Batley Drop-In this week as youngsters popped in to deliver their Harvest Festival goodies.
Head girl Reet Mahi and head boy Milan Bader, of Healey Junior and Infant School, called in to the centre for the homeless and socially isolated on Monday to drop off tinned goods, pasta, fruit and chocolates donated by pupils.
Acting deputy headteacher Kimberley Bradshaw said it was the first year the school had had a harvest collection and it had been a great success.
She said: “We wanted to donate to somewhere local to make a difference to our community.”
Last Friday the drop-in was visited by the Freemason Trafalgar Lodge 971 Batley, who donated a £400 cheque to help the centre buy a television for a recently donated Nintendo Wii.
