Son’s plea for information
A MAN who was brought up by foster parents is searching for information about his birth mother.
Steven Taylor, 48. of South Beeston, Leeds, never knew his mother, Andrea Margaret Stead.
He Ggoogled her name and found an article published in the News five years ago.
Shelia Tannahill had also been searching for her birth mother of the same name in March 2008 and Steven believes they may be related.
He said: “Andrea’s name is the only name on my birth certificate.
“I’ve been using several family tree sites and then just by chance I found Sheila had also been seeking Andrea.
“There could be a chance we have the same mother and she could be my sister.”
Steven spent time in a nursery home in Harrogate when he was growing up.
He was fostered by George and Elsie Taylor in Leeds.
Steven said: “I have decided to start searching and there could be a possibility I have relatives out there.”
Steven has found out Andrea worked at a woollen mill on Wakefield Road, Dewsbury. She was cremated in Dewsbury Moor on December 29 1975.
Andrea was living her husband Ronald Firth at the time. Can you help? Contact Steven on sj.taylor@tiscali.co.uk.
