Town clean up

editorial image

YOUNG people will be helping to clean up their area as part of a new scheme.

The Batley Youth Project members will be reaching for their brooms and brushes on Saturday in a bid to clear the streets.

The scheme offers children, aged 10 and above, an opportunity to get involved in a range of activites.

Joseph Loftus, a member behind the scheme, is hoping the community will get behind the project.

He said: “The aim is to try and help the local community and youths in Batley and the surrounding areas.

“We want to keep them off street corners and away from any form of street crime and drugs.”
