WHAT a great scoop you made for Batley Festival – ‘Simon Cowell’ (Martin Barker) coming to town on September 29 (‘Cowell comes to town?’, News, August 23).

But you didn’t mention Michael Portillo (Mark Griffin) also in the picture.

Mr Portillo was very impressed with Batley on his last visit here.

I hope both Mark and Martin continue their good work together, keeping ‘Batley smiling’.

I hope the young ladies’ quest for their toothless yodeller is successful.
