ON behalf of the Birstall Chamber of Trade I would like to thank everyone who was involved in the recent Paint Birstall Pink week which was a huge success.
There were a number of different avenues for money raising.
l Sixty one traders had collection boxes and/or decorated their windows and on the Thursday a number of traders dressed in pink
l Dean from Haggarts Butchers had a sponsored waxing.
l Nichola from Bishops Bakery sold pink cup cakes at the Race Night.
l Cobbles had a raffle.
l St Saviour’s Church, Brownhill, had a pyjama party on the Saturday.
l There was a bucket collection around the town on the Thursday.
l The Irish Nash held a Race Night on the Thursday.
We can now announce the total raised was £2,385.00.
The winners of the Best Dressed Windows were: first, Oakwell Pharmacy; second, Haggarts Butchers; third, Bishops Bakery. Commendations were given to The Dry Cleaning Centre, Local Properties and Adele’s Barbers.
