A bad taste

AM I confused? I know I have reached my sell-by date, but having spent six-and-a-half years fighting for my country taking part in some bloody battles in foreign countries I am confused.
I am told that most of our gas, electric and water are owned by other countries and most of out post war and current MPs are living on the fat of the land and London and other main cities are places to keep away from, especially at night.
The village I live in has lost its post office and shops and the local clinic has moved to Dewsbury Health Centre a bus ride away.
Ofcom have told us we have a low signal on our TV and there is nothing they can do about it so we must suffer the poor picture reception.
When I saw the list of post offices to close I know that Savile Town was the one to escape the closure but to substitute Thornhill Edge for it is in my book a well thought out crime and the people who thought this up should be punished.
This leaves a bad taste in my mouth and makes me wonder if my six-and-a-half years were a waste of time.
It also leaves room for me to ask the rest of society, are you content with the way the country is going?
