Published Date: 28 August 2008
I AM writing with regard to the story of Mr Bernard Clough (August 7), who received a parking fine after parking on Cambridge Street.
I too was caught out by the parking regulations on this street.

As a disabled driver, I was keen to take note of the disabled sign and parked my car exactly underneath it, thinking this was the correct place.

I visited the library for less than an hour and on returning was shocked, bewildered and confused to find I had been given a ticket.

I appealed against the fine and received a letter back from the council saying I had not parked within a marked bay.

I could not believe it, because there are no marked bays to be seen and there are no signs to say you are not allowed to park there.

I would like the council to put signs up on this road to let us all know where we can park.
