I READ with interest your feature on Road safety first for youngsters (Birstall News, May 1) at the Brownhill Parish Childcare Centre at Howden Clough Community Centre.
Perhaps they could hold road safety lessons for the driver parents of these children. These parents park their cars on the pavement, sometimes practically touching the fence, so that pedestrians are forced on to the road on a dangerous bend where there have been fatalities in the past.

These people are too idle to park safely and walk a short distance and have no consideration for the infirm, elderly or other parents who may have to walk to the centre with pushchairs.
