I WAS at Batley Town Hall on Saturday night to see The Beat Club play the songs of The Beatles and many of my favourite 1960s bands, all of whom appeared at Liverpool's Cavern Club.

The audience clapped and sang all of the way through the show and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it, no one more so than me.

The band did three encores and I just had to get up on my feet and boogie. It was a refreshing change to see a show like this at our town hall, which is a grand venue which needs to be used more often.
It is a shame the show was not a sell-out but I think that when word gets round of what a great night it was, more people will come to future shows at our town hall.

I am certainly looking forward to more shows like this one.
