I would like to thank all those who voted in the recent local elections, particularly those who gave me their support in Birstall and Birkenshaw.
My result was a great endorsement of the record of the Conservative councillor team in the ward and I can promise everyone, whether they actually voted and for whom they voted, that our work will continue to benefit the whole area and everyone who lives within it.

Clearly the results in Kirklees must be judged against the background of the national decline in the Labour vote but, most importantly, they were a clear indication of the approval that the voters had for the record of the current Conservative administration and the way that it continues to drive Kirklees forward.

ANDREW L PALFREEMAN
Conservative councillor for Birstall and
Birkenshaw
