ART ATTACK: The exhibition promoting the HOST art trail across Kirklees.

HOST Open Studio Trail has put the finishing touches to its pre-event exhibition within Huddersfield Railway station.

The exhibition shows over 40 of the 65 artists work who are taking part in HOST, an annual event which throws open the doors of artists studios and showcases artists work around the Kirklees area.

Work can be seen throughout the station brightening the day of passengers whether they are sitting in the waiting room, waiting for a ticket, or just passing through.

The trail takes place on September 8-9 across Kirklees with over 65 artists work to see.

Full details of events and venues can be found at www.hoststudios.co.uk.

Co-organiser Andrew Warburton said: “The station has provided a fantastic and very different venue for us to show artists work this year.

“It showcases the best of artistic talent in the area to all regular commuters, visitors to the area and the general public who go to the station to view the exhibition.”

Exhibitions are co-ordinated at the Station by Art Station, a collective of artists brought together by Kirklees Community and Leisure team, and who liaise with art organisations throughout the area putting together a varied and select calendar of exhibitions.

This is the second exhibition of HOST artists’ work within Huddersfield as there is also the annual Taste of HOST exhibition running at the Lawrence Batley Theatre, Queen Street.
