LIVE music, real ales and good company were on offer at the Taproom as it hosted its first ever Ale and Music weekend.

The mini-festival featured acoustic, blues and folk acts from Friday through to Monday, with an open mic session on Sunday to showcase new talent.

The poor weather meant plans for a stage outside the pub were axed, but the performers were happy to play indoors to the bank holiday revellers.

Chris Berry, landlord at the Wellington Street pub, said he welcomed a ‘good crowd’ to the pub and the real ales were well received.

He said: “It was a good do all round.

“The West Yorkshire music scene is really good at the moment and it’s lovely to be able to showcase it. With the real ales, its a nice package.”
