Bella Besame introducing The Slippery Belle

Bella Besame introducing The Slippery Belle

THE Guide has teamed up with Kirklees to offer readers the chance to win tickets for two fabulous nights out.

We have five pairs of tickets up for grabs for the popular Jongleurs comedy night at Dewsbury Town Hall on Thursday March 15 at 8pm.

Last year for the first time Jongleurs ventured into Dewsbury bringing something new to the area with its cabaret style setting and within no time had a regular following at the town hall.

For newcomers to Jongleurs, the evenings feature three comedians, two hours of top comedy entertainment and one compere, bringing you the best from the comedy circuit. Jongleurs helped to launch the careers of Graham Norton, Paul Merton and Jack Dee.

We also have three pairs of tickets for the Slippery Belle Burlesque and Cabaret show at the town hall, Cleckheaton, on Saturday March 3 at 8pm.

It’s the second time the town hall has hosted the show, which is an evening of glamour and decadence.

The host is the fabulous Bella Besame with wonderful burlesque performances and musical entertainment. For those new to the Burlesque art form, the evenings can easily be described in three films: a hint of Moulin Rouge, the showmanship of Cabaret and the 1950s seaside postcard humour of Carry On! All thrown into one fabulous show which is suitable for over 16s only.

To enter the Jongleurs competition answer the following question: Which Irish comedy show, featuring priests, did Graham Norton star in?

To enter the burlesque competition, answer the following question: Which Australian actress starred in the 2001 blockbuster film Moulin Rouge? Send your entries to either Jongleurs of Burlesque competition, The Guide, Spenborough Guardian, 1 Market Street, Cleckheaton, BD19 3RT.

Please include your name, address and daytime telephone number.

Entries must reach us by Monday February 20.

Usual YWNG rules apply.
