CHILDREN from a Batley school enjoyed fruits and food from around the world at a healthy eating day.
Each class at Hyrstmount Junior School tasted exotic fruits such as pomegranates, mangoes and cheese such as brie, fruit Wensleydale and foccacia bread.

In the afternoon health professionals Ailene Bennett and Roz Brown spoke to parents about oral health and wellbeing.

The Hyrstmount allotment is also in full bloom with the children harvesting food for the school's lunchtime salad bar.

Headteacher Ann Crines said: "The school's focus around health has paid off with the children learning new skills around growing food and healthy eating.
