HECKMONDWIKE councillor David Exley has been ousted by Labour in a shock result.
Coun Exley, who lives in Birstall, was the first BNP councillor to be elected onto Kirklees and was the leader of the three-strong group.

It is the second time he has defended his seat after initially being voted in during a by-election.

In the 2008 results, just announced, he was beaten into second place by Labour's Steve Hall with a majority of 194 votes.
