A MAN threatened to have his ex-wife shot as she was showing potential buyers around their former marital home, a court heard.
Dennis Gosling, 64 now of Dewsbury Road in Gomersal, told his wife "One more word out of you and I will have you shot" after telling the onlookers they would not be buying the house in Raikes Lane, Birstall.

ALSO: Local lad Michael Hopkins hopes to have Batley's newest store, Home Discounts (Batley) open by the end of next week, bucking the town's trend which has seen a number of shops close in the last year.

AND FINALLY: Kid's TV favourite Timmy Mallett paid an Utterly Brilliant visit to Batley, complete with sidekick Pinky Punky, and gave the News an exclusive interview.

Don't miss all this, plus four pages of election round-up, only in this week's Batley and Birstall News, out tomorrow.
