KIRKLEES Council has charged a grieving woman £72 just to check her mum's gravestone isn't "offensive".
Shocked Jackie Hussain removed her father's headstone to add her mother's name following her death 18 months ago, and was billed for the "cemetery permission fee" shortly afterwards.
ALSO: Justice campaigner Peter Brierley, whose son Lt Cpl Shaun Brierley died while serving in the army in March 2003, feels more questions need to be asked following former Prime Minister Tony Blair's appearance at the Chilcot Inquiry.
AND FINALLY: Carlinghow woman Samantha Romarin enjoyed a surprise High Tea with the stars of Top Gear after bumping into them while on holiday in South Africa.
Don't miss all this and more only in this week's Batley and Birstall News, out tomorrow.
