A Christmas treat from Educating Yorkshire school
More than £1,000 has been raised by generous staff and pupils at Thornhill Community Academy for children who face waking up with no presents on Christmas Day.
he school, which was recently the focus of hit TV series Educating Yorkshire, raised £1,093 for Radio Aire’s Mission Christmas Cash for Kids appeal. Nine boxes of gifts for children were also handed over. Lucinda Baker, Religious and Social Issues teacher, organised the gift collection and funds were raised through a non-uniform day, a Christmas concert and by carol singing at Dewsbury Asda.
