Pupils and staff dressed as their favourite book characters to make World Book Day a real page turner.
Harry Potter, Where’s Wally and The Gruffalo could be seen walking the corridors of Birstall Primary Academy.
The pupils talked about the characters they were dressed as and some of their favourite books.
They also held a fashion parade in an assembly to show off their flamboyant costumes.
English co-ordinator Zoe Proctor said: “We have been having a big push on reading in the school and are encouraging the pupils to read more.
“We had a readathon before half-term and held a sponsored event for charity. The children had to read different books before the holidays and a percentage of the money went to buy new books for the library.
“It was a great day and all the staff were dressed up as well, which added to the fun.”
