Two journalists have been shortlisted at this year’s O2 Media Awards Yorkshire and the Humber for their work with the Reporter Series.
Reporter Mike Muncaster is in the running for the Young Journalist of the Year award.
Other shortlisted entrants in the category include journalists from the Yorkshire Evening Post, Harrogate Advertiser and BBC Radio Humberside.
Meanwhile, former Reporter Series journalist Lauren Ballinger has been shortlisted in the Weekly News Reporter of the Year category for her work on our papers and websites.
She faces competition from journalists at the Wakefield Express, Barnsley Chronicle and Doncaster Free Press.
With almost 300 individual entries the O2 Awards are the biggest regional press awards in the country.
Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on June 26 at The Royal Armouries in Leeds hosted by BBC Breakfast presenter Louise Minchin.
Bob Buiaroski, Capita O2 partnership director, said the awards were one of the most prestigious of their type in the UK.
He said: “We are delighted to sponsor these awards that will allow the fantastic work of even more regional journalists across Yorkshire to be showcased.”
