A man from Batley has died following an horrific blaze in the back of a van.
Firefighters discovered the victim’s badly-charred body in the van in Heckmondwike Road, Dewsbury, in the early hours of Saturday.
Police were initially unable to tell if the body belonged to a man or woman.
But a post-mortem examination revealed it was a man who had died of smoke inhalation.
Officers have ruled out foul play and say it appears to have been a tragic accident.
It is believed the man, who was from Hungary but had been living in Batley, had climbed into the blue Vauxhall Movano panel van after trying to find somewhere to sleep.
