Police are on the hunt for information after finding a woman’s body under a car in Cleckheaton.
Officers and paramedics were called at 12.03am on Sunday morning to a report from a member of the public that the lifeless body of a woman had been found under a parked and unattended Vauxhall Omega car in Prospect Street. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. She has not yet been formally identified.
A 57-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving whilst over the prescribed limit and released on bail.
Detective chief inspector Adrian Taylor, senior investigating officer, said: “This investigation is in its early stages and we are still establishing the circumstances of the incident. We are keen to speak to anyone who was in the vicinity of Prospect Street around this time who has any information which could aid the ongoing investigation.”
