Chantelle Cocking, from the school, said: “It was one of the best events we’ve had.

“He spoke for about an hour and the kids were in awe.

“He talked about how he came to write the books, and because he’s a comedian there were some one-liners in there and the kids were in fits of laughter.

“The adults all really enjoyed it too.” After the talk he did a book signing. “A lot of the kids are into his books, which include the Young Bond series. They might not know him from television but they love his books.”
