Families came out in force to show their support for a Down’s Syndrome support group.
The Yorkshire Down Syndrome Group (YDSG) raised £2,046 during a gala on Saturday to mark the anniversary of its formation.
Revellers enjoyed live entertainment, fairground games, stalls, candy floss and fresh donuts at the all-day event.
A bouncy castle and inflatable slide kept youngsters amused, while crowds were entertained with a performance from the SL Academy of Dance.
YDSG founder Claire Ellarby said it was an “absolutely brilliant” day.
“We were all so happy,” she said. “It just turned out better than we ever expected.”
She thanked organiser Karen Dorr for everything she had done for the group, and local businesses that donated raffle and tombola prizes.
She said the money raised during the event had secured YDSG’s future.
“We’ve booked a trip for the children to go to Brid for the day,” she said.
“The rest will go towards the group and we hope to make the gala an annual event.”
