A father took a leap of faith to raise money for hospital staff after his son was born prematurely.

Paul Ackroyd, who works at Yorkshire Bank in Batley, raised £1,959.08 for the neo natal unit at Pinderfields Hospital.

Paul‘s son, Max, weighed just three and half pounds after he was born 11 weeks early on March 8 this year.

Max was constantly monitored by staff for five weeks on the ward and his parents wanted to say thank you to the staff who cared for their son.

Paul completed the dive alongside his sister-in-law Joanne Church and cousin Alison Bentley. He thanked staff at the Yorkshire Bank, the probation service and St Saviour’s Church in Birstall for their support.
