Five people assaulted after challenging youths

FIVE people were assaulted after confronting a gang of youths who were throwing eggs at a car.

At around 9.45pm a group of youths went into the Co-op on Nab Lane in Mirfield and bought some eggs.

They began throwing them at a parked car on Back Knowl Road before they were challenged by five passers-by.

This led to a confrontation and the members of the public were assaulted. None received serious injuries.

A 16-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of affray and are currently on bail.

Police have just released details of the attack, which took place on October 12.

They are appealing for witnesses, especially the driver of a black Audi that stopped at the scene.

Call police on 101.
