The UK’s leading holistic cancer charity Penny Brohn UK hosts taster sessions once-a-month at Dewsbury and District Hospital from 10am until 12.30pm.

The next sessions are based on eating well (June 16), managing stress (July 14) and activity (August 25).

Penny Brohn UK also runs its two-day Living Well course, offering practical self-care techniques.

These run on successive Mondays (June 13 and 20) at Northorpe Hall Child and Family Trust in Mirfield.

Each session runs from 10am until 5.30pm.

Carolyn Foster-Richards, Penny Brohn’s North Living Well development manager, said: “More people are diagnosed with and living longer with cancer.

“We aim to help as many people as possible achieve the best quality of life they can.

“Our evidence shows that this support can improve health and wellbeing, wherever the person is on their cancer journey.

“There’s a growing need for this type of course, so our challenge is to make them available to everyone who needs them.”

Kirklees Council, Greater Huddersfield and North Kirklees CCGs, Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust, and Mid-Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust help deliver and fund the courses.
