The Batley Bulldogs team is on a mission to harness the power of green energy.
Standing tall beside the Mount Pleasant ground, this wind turbine is the latest move in the club’s bid to save the environment as well as its pennies.
General manager Paul Harrison said the club hoped to be 100 per cent self-sufficient, in terms of energy, by the end of the season.
And he said he hoped other rugby clubs would be inspired to follow in its path.
Mr Harrison said: “This is a very exciting opportunity for the club to take a step into the relative unknown and do something which will not only benefit the club, but the local community and the environment as well.”
