The Suzuki Splash involved in a three-car smash on Hick Lane on Friday 10th February. Emergency services had to prise the door open.

Traffic came to a standstill on Hick Lane this afternoon following a three car smash.

At around 2.30pm, emergency services were called to the scene near Batley town centre after a blue Volkswagen Bora hit a black Suzuki Splash before colliding with a police car head on.

One woman received minor injuries and was check over by paramedics at the scene.

A fire engine was also called out after officers struggled to open the car door of the Suzuki Splash, but was not needed after police managed to prise it open.

Hick Lane reopened at 2.55pm once all vehicles were moved out of the way of traffic.
