One of the most popular speakers to visit Batley History Group will return on Monday to talk about leisure pursuits in Edwardian and Victorian times.
As well as working in the Keighley library for many years Ian Dewhirst has written several history books about the history of Keighley and Yorkshire and continues to contribute regular articles to local and regional newspapers and magazines. His ability to fascinate is also reflected in the fact that each year he is booked to give 80 or more talks to local organisations throughout the county.
Next Monday’s talk will be given at Batley Town Hall starting at 7.30pm, although free refreshments are available from 7pm.
Admission to the talk is £2 for History Group members and £4 for visitors.
