Man assaulted in Dewsbury town centre

A 46-year-old man suffered serious injuries after he was attacked in Dewsbury town centre.

The assault took place during the early hours of this morning (Friday, March 11).

The victim was taken to Leeds General Infirmary and his condition is not thought to be life threatening.

A 44-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Detective Sergeant Ian Thornes, of Huddersfield CID, said: “We would urge anyone who was in the vicinity of this incident this morning to come forward with any information.”
