Man seriously injured in attack

A man sustained serious injuries in an attack in Liversedge.

The 36-year-old was seriously assaulted at an address in Second Avenue around midnight on Wednesday, March 16.

The victim stayed at the property overnight but flagged down a passing motorist the next day who took him to Dewsbury Hospital.

He was treated for his serious injuries and later discharged.

A 34-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of wounding and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Police want to speak to any witnesses to the assault and are keen to trace the person who took the victim to hospital.

Detective Constable Shaun Topham, of Huddersfield CID, said: “This was a vicious assault and I am appealing directly to anyone with information about this to come forward.”
