Distributor picks up industry gong

A business in Cleckheaton has beaten the big-boys to a major national award.

LSI, based in Snelsins Lane, has won an award for merchandise distributors at a bash in Coventry, beating competition from more than 300 other businesses.

The gong was collected at the Promotional Merchandise Industry Awards ceremony, where LSi scooped top prize of Distributor of the Year in the £2-5m turnover category.

The event took place at the Ricoh Arena, and included performances from pop-supremos Olly Murs and JLS.

LSi, which distributes promotional merchandise for businesses, was represented by MD Lloyd Simpson, who collected the award on behalf of LSi, and paid tribute to his team.

He said: “There were more than 900 people at the do, and to win in our category was just fantastic.

“It was a very big occasion, and pop-stars like Alexandra Burke and JLS were playing – a lot of us were very excited.

“This award is testament to the hard work of LSi staff – they are a fantastically talented bunch of people with a great deal of emphasis on teamwork and the close relationships they forge with both our suppliers and our customers.”

“To be voted for this award by our suppliers, and with the whole team present at the dinner, made for a very special night indeed, I don’t think I could be more proud!”

The company, which was founded in 1994, has grown steadily obver the years, but Lloyd has always managed to keep the company local to Cleckheaton.

He said: “We have had a really good few years against the recession– and we hope to grow even more in the future.

“It’s just nice that all our suppliers thought to vote for us.”
