Frank Lampard’s agent has denied the England midfielder has been offered a new contract by Chelsea. Contrary to reports on Thursday suggesting Chelsea had began contract negotiations on a new deal after deciding not to let him leave in the summer, it now seems he could still be heading out of Stamford Bridge. Lampard’s representative Steve Kutner told The Sun: “Nothing has changed regarding Frank’s situation at Chelsea.”

Despite the January transfer window closing only nine days ago, the summer transfer rumours and gossip have already begun. Fiorentina forward Stevan Jovetic is Arsene Wenger’s lastest target after missing out on bringing Barcelona striker David Villa to Arsenal. According to the Daily Mirror, the Arsenal manager has opted to go for a younger target in the form of Montenegro hitman Jovetic.

In addition the paper reports: “Toulouse midfielder Etienne Capoue, Liverpool keeper Pepe Reina and Marseille defender Nicolas N’Koulou will also be watched in the coming months as the Gunners firm up their list of summer targets.”

Arsene Wenger is also interested in bringing Patrick Vieira back to the club, as head of youth development. The frenchman would replace current boss Liam Brady who is set to leave his role next year and Vieira is thought to be “tempted” by a return to his former club.

The Daily Star are reporting that Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke will leave the club in the summer, even if they stay up. The Star claims Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea are all keen on the hitman but Villa are reportedly asking for £16 million to prise the hitman away from Villa Park.

Everton talisman Marouane Fellaini has denied there is a fixed-price release clause in his contract which could make him an easier target for those teams looking to lure him away from Goodison. He said: “If I do end up leaving, it would be up to the club to decide on the price. I have all sorts of clauses in my contract, but there is no fixed fee for releasing me.”

Andre Villas-Boas believes Gareth Bale can become Tottenham’s version of Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo. The Spurs boss likened Bale’s latest switch from winger to a central attacker to that of Ronaldo’s, who spent the early stages of his career on the flank but now operates as a deadly centre-forward for the Spanish giants.

Manchester City target Neyman, will staying at Brazilian side Santos until 2014 and possibly even further according to Santos chief Luis Alvaro de Oliveira Ribeiro. The young Brazilian has been the subject of constant speculation surrounding a move to City but Ribeiro insists not even a “blank cheque” could persuade them to part with Neymar.
