Government is simply the worst

THE evidence mounts that the Labour government since 1997 has been the worst in history.

How does it feel to belong or have voted for such a party?

It has presided over the destruction of the economy – especially the financial system, Northern Rock and the Halifax, both identified as being weak by the Bank of England in 2004.

On top of which with Brown's raid on pension funds, the destruction of the UK's private pension system, once described as the best in the world.

The government started to split up the UK with separate assemblies, yet has not reduced the number of MPs or lords to reflect Parliament's reduction in power, especially due to Europe.

Then the government allowed Parliament to be brought into public contempt – with, under the PM's watch, an allowance scheme that did not stand up to public scrutiny.

As for the election of the current speaker, the scheme was voted in by the Labour majority and, by the looks of it, the Liberals.

On top of all the above, the Labour government sent this country to war on grounds that, again, do not stand up to public scrutiny.

And now they want to sweep it all under the carpet with another inquiry in private.

Why bother, just give out the report now – Nobody did anything wrong.

Everybody's starter for 10: Think of the record of a worse English government?

Then even worse, think of who you can vote for in a national election?
