Hat's all folks
HERE is another big group picture, made up mainly of children of different ages – some looking happier to be photographed than others.
Do you recognise anyone? A few of those in the crowd are wearing rather tall hats, which could have something to do with the event the picture was taken to commemorate.
The writing on the board at the front says ‘Charles Street Comic Band in aid of miners and unemployed children’.
There is no date on this photograph but I wonder what a child from that era would think about children of today, the majority of whom have the luxury of proper schooling and a long and carefree childhood, with all manner of toys and gadgets to keep them entertained.
