It's just pot luck on holes

WITH reference to the item on potholes in the Reporter on Friday, February 19, as soon as the roads were clear of snow I reported the following potholes to the Highways Department at Kirklees Council:

Heckmondwike Road - The length of road from the bottom of Knowle Hill Road to the point where it becomes Walkley Lane at the bottom of Keats Drive where the road has been in a terrible state for months. This resulted in their repairing just the major potholes and leaving the rest, which are numerous.

High Stree, Westtwown – The length of road from the point it starts from Heckmondwike Road as far as Central Street. Nothing has been done so far in this respect.

It was very intereting that shortly after when we had had a further slight fall of snow workers were busy carrying out a total resurfacing of a section of School Lane, which to my knowledge was in very good condition.

They ask us to report potholes but fail to make a proper job of it.

I reported a further large pothole in Greenside Lane, Heckmondwike only last week and that was attended to in three days.
