Job club talk

TOMORROW’S work club at the Sunshine Social Centre in Fieldhead will include a talk on career choices, led by the company A4e.

A4e, or Action for Employment, helps people find work, skills and direction, and will be helping job seekers think about what they need in order to get a job, and talking about their thoughts and ideas.

The firm will also be advising about potential placements which could lead to a career.

Future job club meetings are expected to include presentations by Sue Thompson of Voluntary Action Kirklees and Bev Birch, who will discuss interview skills.

The club also offers jobs and benefits advice, as well as help with CV writing and a drop-in with Jay Micklethwaite from Job Centre Plus.

The job club meets at the centre in Lowood Lane on Fridays from 10am to 1pm.

Not to be a party pooper but A4E is being investigated by a few MPs as they do not meet targets, but paid Emma Harrison an £8.6 million pound bonusdividend.. From what I have observed they subcontract to firms like yourselves, take a management fee and do little else they are basically making money by the bucket load, but delivering nothing. Ask for figures and they say the programme is to new,yet it is suppose to be a pay by results programme so how are they able to bill the taxpayer if they do not know their success rate....
