Snow is predicted to fall across North Kirklees overnight tonight (Monday) and into tomorrow, the Met Office has warned.

A yellow ‘be aware’ warning has been issued warning of up to 5cm of snow in some areas, with the risk of drifting as winds gusts up to around 50mph.

The forecast said that the winds could make it feel as cold as -6°C.

The Met Office said showers are forecast for this evening (Monday) before turning increasingly wintry in the early hours of Tuesday and winds could lead to blizzard-like conditions.

The warning added there could be disruption to travel and roads could become icy.
