Now we're sitting pretty!

MAY I through your column express the gratitude of Batley and District Mencap to Hills Supplies Ltd, of Cleckheaton, for their recycling initiative. I read about their proposed recycling plans to local charities and non profit making organisations in the paper.

The chairs in use at Mencap Hall, which ironically had also been recycled through another source, were fast reaching a state of being beyond repair, so the timing could not have been better. From selecting the chairs to them being put into use took only a matter of days thanks to them being promptly delivered for a very nominal cost.

Batley and District Mencap is a totally voluntary organisation and has managed to survive for almost 60 years as such. We are totally reliant on our own money raising efforts and the generosity of both local people and organisations.

Hills Supplies Ltd have through their recycling initiative ensured we are all comfortably seated in 2010 and for a considerable time to come!
