Owner loses his licence

THE owner of Mungo has had his licence revoked.

Kirklees Council’s licensing panel has decided to revoke Jason Hardy’s licence at the now closed Bradford Road nightclub. The decision was made by councillors on the recommendation of the police, even though Mr Hardy had written to the council offering to surrender the licence.

Neither the press nor the public were allowed into last Wednesday’s hearing at Dewsbury Town Hall because of an ongoing police investigation involving the premises.

Mr Hardy is due to appear at Kirklees Magistrates’ Court on September 13 charged with production of cannabis at Mungo and Jardy’s in Birstall.
