SPORTY siblings Rachel and Matthew Crorken have proved they have what it takes to be the best in the county.
The Birstall pair have been selected to represent West Yorkshire in the regional finals of the Under 13 Sports Hall Athletics in Halifax on Sunday.
It is a particularly good achievement for Matthew, who was only just old enough to take part in the trials and went on to beat boys two years older than him.
Matthew, 11, came first in the four-lap race in the trials, which were held last month in Bradford, and second in the six-lap race.
Rachel, 12, came second in the girls’ two-lap race and the speed bounce event, in which contestants jump from side to side over a piece of foam.
Both said they were very happy to be in the finals, and parents Ray and Jayne said they were very proud of their children.
