Snow disrupts rubbish collections

Snow has disrupted up to 20,000 bin collections today across Kirklees.

The council intends to continue normal collection schedules from Monday but will try to get back to any grey bin collections missed as soon as possible next week.

A council spokeswoman said: “We would ask householders whose grey bins were missed on Friday to present their grey bins again for collection from Monday. Green bins missed will not be collected until the next scheduled collection on Friday April 5.

“We apologise to householders for any inconvenience caused by this unavoidable disruption.”
