Society not theirs to change
SO, the starting pistol has been fired for the general and, in some cases, local elections.
This is a process that is usually embarked upon in a democratic and free society; but is ours still a democracy? And are we truly free?
We have, without being asked, given away our sovereignty to the EU and are not fully aware of the cost in lost freedom, which is priceless, and in monetary terms, currently running at 41m per day. The impact is slowly being felt with EU dictated legislation already blighting and ruling our lives.
Our own government over the past 13 years has introduced 4,000 new laws. We have approximately 4.2m CCTV cameras watching our every move, ever increasing levels of Jobsworths in uniform ready to impose fixed penalty notices, the pending introduction of ID cards and micro chips to be installed in our waste bins to check our waste disposal. Full body scanners at airports, and once again coming in under the radar, the right for HMRC to be allowed to open our mail at the sorting offices.
Are people aware there are now 418 pieces of legislation that permit local authority officers the right to enter their homes without a warrant, and that Kirklees has 89 such officials?
Health and safety is stifling our entrepreneurial businesses, schools, councils, children’s activities, our very freedom to make judgement on our own destinies and futures.
We are bombarded by self-righteous individuals and organisations telling us we are too fat, too thin, too lethargic. We eat the wrong foods, too much fat, sugar, salt etc and not enough of the right healthy options. We drink too much, and, horror of horrors, we might even smoke.
All of these things, if not drastically reduced or eliminated, will take us to hell in a handcart and if we do not comply, it will be banned!
This government, and make no mistake, the Conservatives if elected, want to take over our lives and are intent on changing society.
All of this of course is for our own good, because we are judged as being incapable of thinking for ourselves and in need of parental guidance.
We are however mature enough to vote. So before putting your cross against a candidate or party, and before elections are made redundant under EU legislation, remind all prospective politicians that society is your employer, and not yours to mould in your likeness!
