THIS WEEK’S PAPER
A WOMAN faces a five year wait to find out whether used drug needles thrown away in her outside bin have given her HIV.
Danielle Watson was pushing rubbish down her bin when she felt the needles prick her hand. She has been it will take five years before she will be given the all-clear, and in the meantime Kirklees Council told Miss Watson to dispose of the needles herself in fear of its own staff’s health.
ALSO: The family of tragic war hero Kyle Stock, who died in a road accident earlier this year are celebrating the birth of his daughter, Amber Mae, with his partner Emma Bloice. The family says two-week-old Amber has given them something to smile about.
AND FINALLY: It wasn’t even November before the Christmas lights in Batley were lighting up the night’s sky. Festive bulbs were up and flashing this week, a month before a scheduled switch-on.
Don’t miss all this, plus vote for your Baby and Toddler of the year, and your Halloween pictures, only in this week’s Batley and Birstall News, out tomorrow.
