A ONE-MAN tribute to an iconic American singer and civil rights activist will make its way to Halifax this month.

The Square Chapel theatre will be the setting for Call Mr Robeson – A life, with songs, which charts the singer’s life and times in the 1930s and 40s. This one-man show is written and performed by Tayo Aluko, who sings some of Paul Robeson’s most well-known and well-loved songs, including a dramatic rendition of Ol’ Man River. The production takes place on Thursday January 10.
