Ward changes at Dewsbury and District
CHANGES have been made to three surgical wards at Dewsbury and District Hospital as part of work to improve services for patients.
The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals Trust said the changes were designed to promote privacy and dignity, increase the flexibility of the services and bring staff with specialists skills together.
Chief operating officer Carole Langrick said: “This change round of surgical wards is about using our excellent staff and facilities in a more effective way to provide a better service and experience for our patients.”
The changes mean there are now dedicated assessment facilities for surgical patients.
• Ward 12, which used to be a general surgical ward, is now the orthopaedics ward. The ward phone number is 01924 816012.
• Ward 14, which used to be the gynaecology ward, is now the gynaecology and female general surgical with a new female surgical assessment area. The ward phone number is 01924 816001.
• Ward 15, which used to be an orthopaedics ward, is now the inpatient general surgical ward with a dedicated male assessment area. The ward phone number is 01924 816015.
