Party provides boost to £100k charity aim

Fun was had by all at the recent Kirkwood Hospice Garden Party Marquee Show - an event which further boosted the £100,000 fundraising target of Peter Morgan.

Peter is aiming for the landmark target in memory of his late wife Jacqueline.

Chief fundraiser Peter again joined forces with Darren and Jackie Brooke, who staged the marquee event at their Mirfield home.

Peter said: “Thanks to the success of last years fundraising Garden Party Marquee Shows, we managed to raise £12,000 for Kirkwood Hospice.

“This means we only need to raise a further £88,000 to achieve the Holy Grail Target of £100,000 for our treasured hospice.”

In June and July “Betty’s Cafe Style Afternoon and Ritz Style Bar Service” was complemented by entertainment with a charity raffle and auction to complete a fabulous experience for everyone involved.

Those events further boosted the coffers and Peter added: “Donations raised in these two shows alone are expected to far exceed the donations achieved during the whole of 2015 thanks to Darren and Jackie’s inspirational organisation and the scaling up of the quality of the Marquee Garden Party Shows.

“I’d like to extend my immense gratitude to all the volunteers, performing artists, raffle and auction prize sponsors, but in particular the generous support and contributions of all our precious invited guests.”

A further 1940s garden party marquee show is planned for Sunday, September 4 and is expected to sell out very quickly.
